In Memoriam: Judi and her love for German Shepherds
German Shepherds (GSD) are one of the most amazing breeds of domesticated dogs today. Their versatility is unmatched. They have high trainability and extreme loyalty and commitment. The GSD is known for it's dignity and stature. Judi selected this breed for her focus in life. She bred high quality GSDs and as an animal behaviorist trained them and other dogs in obedience, SAR, and K-9. She was particularly known for her ability to rehab the most aggressive dogs. Those dogs that would have been put down if someone couldn't find a way to get through to them and uncover the amazing companion they were born to be. In all of her tiny 5' stature, she was able to reach them and find a way to save these dogs and allow them to live a fulfilled life. She was fearless and with a belief that every dog was worth saving. This is the philosophy we bring to our work. We believe in finding novel solutions and strategies to improve the lives of canids worldwide. Annually, 6 million dogs are euthanized in shelters in the US. This is an horrific statistic. Our goal is through collaboration and our novel solutions and strategies, we can decrease this number.
In honor of Judi and her tireless advocacy through her work with German Shepherds, we share these photos with you.
The souls we loved and lost......but their spirit will forever be a part of who we are
